This was purchsed for a 7 year old and while he loves it and the raised relief is terrific, it has already been broken twice and had to be glued (same place, so I am sure it will happen again). It is a cheap design and, had I realized how cheaply constructed it was, I would have invested in a sturdier model. Very good for an older child to look at, but not too closely!

The tape that runs around the middle where the equator is peeled off right away and the plactic frame is not sturdy enough to withstand normal handling by a child - it broke within a day of use.
