I've been wanting to get a quality globe for a long time, I never could find what I consider quality in stores. I never thought to look online for a globe, glad I did now. This globe is quality made in every way, a whole lot better than I expected. I figured the base might be made of a cheap pressed wood, it is not, it is a good heavy wood base, but I'm not sure what kind of wood. It is very sturdy, I didn't expect that either. I like the fact that there is nothing obstructing the view of the globe, everything is very easy to see and it rotates universally, I like that feature. From the time I put my order in to the time it was in my living room was less that 48 hours. I doubt very much a better globe for this price can be found, or even a much higher price. I like high quality stuff. The online picture does not do this product justice, they should try and improve the picture, the real thing is much better looking.
